Facing AIDS - World AIDS day 2008 In the United States, an estimated 1 million people are living with HIV; of these, approximately 25 percent are unaware of their HIV infection and are at increased risk for infecting others. This December 1st, 2008, many bloggers, including myself are helping to spread awareness of AIDS and promote HIV/AIDS testing with Wold Aids Day. Lets talk about HIV prevention with family, friends, and coworkers and provide support to people living with HIV/AIDS. Our goal is to help increase awareness about the importance of HIV testing to help improve the health of those most at risk for HIV and to prevent future infections.

  1. Maybe it’s because I’m no longer in television news but it seems like I heard very little–if anything about World Aids Day this year. I admit I don’t watch TV news as much anymore but I didn’t read much online either. That’s a shame because the problem is very much alive and should demand everyone’s attention.
