Only a few stories that we read impact us so much that we just cannot stop thinking about them and Andy Andrew’s, The Butterfly Effect, is one of those stories. Enjoy this 3 minute movie (below) and be inspired to live a life of permanent purpose that will make you a better parent, a better spouse, employee and a more valuable friend.

Instead, learn to focus on the positive. Think about how great you feel. Think about how other people have done this, and how you can too. Think about how good it will feel when you accomplish what you’re trying to do.

Learn to see the positive in just about any situation. This results in happiness, in my experience, as you don’t focus on the bad parts of your life, but on the good things. Be thankful for what you’ve been given.

For step 3 in finding your passion, think about something you’ve secretly dreamed of. You might have some ridiculous dream job you’ve always wanted to do. Have you ever had a dream of being a novelist, an artist, a designer, an architect, a doctor, an entrepreneur, a programmer. Maybe some fear or self-doubt has held you back and led you to dismiss this idea. List your dream ideas, no matter how unrealistic.

Obviously; Zach had no intention of stopping there. He created The Little Red Wagon Foundation when he was just 7 years old.  “I created a non profit so I could help kids in distressed situations.” Zach says on his site’s main page.  It looks like he’s doing just that and inspiring many along the way.

He’s collected 400 backpacks, nicknamed “Zachpacks”, filled with donated snacks, toys, and toiletries, for homeless children. He’s organized Christmas parties for homeless children living in Baker, Louisiana, and he gave Christmas presents to Hurricane Katrina victims. In his efforts to raise awareness of the over 1.3 million homeless children in this country, he organized “24 Hours”, an event that simulated being homeless for 24 hours and walked from his house to the White House – 1,225 miles.

For his next journey, he plans to walk from Tampa to Los Angeles – 2500 miles – to raise awareness of Youth Homelessness. You can keep track of Zach’s progress on the “Zach Tracker” and this young guy is worth keeping track of.  He is an inspiration to us all.
